We have reached the magical 100 signups for the beta - and that's awesome. It's wonderful to see so much interest in noncustodial trading on Bitcoin.
Let's talk about our beta program!
What you can expect
If you are already signed up we will try our best to include you in one of the first rounds of the beta program. Expect to hear directly from us in the next three weeks.

The initially closed beta program does not have a fixed ending, but we plan to gradually open it up to the public by June. We make a plan, because we need one to act - but we also expect it to change once we start to collect more feedback!
The implementation is coming together, but it has some rough edges. And it should. We want to see you give it a try as soon as possible, so we are not going to polish every last bit just yet. The initial feature-set is limited to an MVP scope - it allows you to trade by placing a market order and use the app as a Lightning wallet. The setup will be fully noncustodial from the get-go, including opening a Lightning channel with us. There will be rough edges, there will be bugs - but rest assured no money will be lost, because initially we won't use it on mainnet 😇
Beta program plan
The beta will be done in several rounds. Initially we will rely on direct feedback from users and closely watching you use the app because that gives us the most immediate, valuable feedback. We expect that after the first ten to twenty interviews we will start transitioning to a more open approach, where you can download the app from TestFlight (iOS) or install the APK (Android) in your own time and provide feedback from within the app.
The earlier you join, the more you will be able to shape - and the more you will interact with the team. We haven't come up with a rewards program yet, but know that we will not forget early feedback-givers.
Round 1: Omg, it's so bleeding edge!
We set up an interview date and time together
You receive the Testflight link / APK at the beginning of the interview
We spin up all the services needed fo you to trade / use the app on signet
You perform certain tasks within the app; we collect feedback and note down problems
We have a brief discussion about improvements and what you would like to see next
It is expected that the app will only be usable during the interview. At this stage things will likely break - but there's good fun in trying it out this early. Your feedback is most valuable.
Round 2: This works! When mainnet?!
This is basically the same as Round 1, but with improved stability and UX. By now we also expect that you can continue using the app after the interview; but the app will only work on signet.
Round 3: Reckless mainnet it is!
At this stage, we will allow you to switch to mainnet and use actual bitcoin. Obviously, we don't expect that mainnet funds will be lost, but we will encourage you to use smaller amounts for the time being. It's called reckless for a reason!
We will transition to a more independent setup. We will still schedule interviews, but you will receive a download link prior to the interview and can try the app before we even talk.
At this stage we will start focusing on future features: what you would like to see next in the 10101 app.
We send you a Testflight link / link to the APK
You download and use the app in your own time
We set up a date and time for an interview and discuss what you like
We may show you prototypes of potential new features to come and collect feedback
Past Round 3: You would not believe what happened next…
Once we make it past round three we will start opening up the beta to the public and add features related to growth. We have a great bunch of ideas for that - some of which you will see when we discuss future features to come during the closed beta interviews. We are looking forward to blitz past round three with the speed of Lightning and shoot 10101 to the 🌔
Ready to jump - Stay tuned for a great bleeding edge app by the end of the month 🚀
Cheers,
The 10101 team
